True, although you have to admit these instances are rare.

Since I'm relatively certain OOTP 2007 won't be taking into account the players' actual personalities, I'm hoping we can at least edit the popularity ratings ourselves to reflect real-life.

Take Barry Bonds, circa 2002, for instance. I'm guessing the game would give him (or at least a player with his exact same stats) a fairly high popularity rating on both a local and national level. However, in reality, he would likely be tagged with a "very popular" rating locally and a "very unpopular" (or whatever the diametrical opposite rating in the game is) nationally.

When this feature was initially introduced back in 6.5, it seemed the biggest complaint was that it often gave unrealistic ratings, which couldn't be changed. And I'd venture to guess that this is also why it was scrapped in OOTP '06.

So in the interest of realism, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is something we will be able to manually edit in the new version.

Overall, I believe the more things in the game we can edit ourselves, the better the game will be.

We asked these exact same questions back in 6.5 I believe. Or was it 6.0? Can't remember.

write/edit news

Will only commishes be able to edit/write news or will each team owner/gm be able to edit/write for his own team?

Only Commishes. That said, you can paste stuff into the news writer, so all a GM has to do is e-mail or otherwise submit a news story to the Commish, and they can input it into the game for them.

Noticed on the Manager Index screen that the From-To line doesn't always equate with the Years column. What range do the dates actually cover, or is this part of it still a work in progress? Love the concept, though. It'll be a great tool to look back on various manager's performance levels.

Not really, but I did a lot of this stuff in the offseason when you some of you guys went into hibernation.

Plus, to be honest, I talk too much and I practically live here. I am in need of a life, or a good baseball simulation game to lure me away from these forums. Perhaps after March 23 . . .

On second thought, Lewis, I liked you better as Pee Wee Herman. You were so adorable then. Now you're just a puzzle to me.
