Replaying the last 20 years
Here's my dream....
Start a league in 1985 (or any year) with real MLB players and minor leaguers. Play that league until the current time with real draft classes. So my 1993 draft class would include, ARod and Billy Wagner and Chris Carpender, etc. I think this would be possible because I could stock the feeder leagues with a draft class every year. HS guys in a HS feeder league and college guys in a college feeder league and just time it so that all those guys become eligible in the correct year. Then of course, where they're drafted is a crap shoot, and that's fine. For those not aware, The Baseball Cube has all the draft classes, every pick, since the start of the draft in 1965 (http://www.thebaseballcube.com/draft/index.shtml), so in essense, assembling these draft classes is possible. Anyone have any ideas on how this could be implemented, if at all?? |

I was looking through the 2006 draft there and was surprised to see that the Red Sox had a player in the 2006 draft who has played at MLB level.
The 10th round pick was an 18 year old pitcher called Kyle Snyder. He's flagged up as having played for the Red Sox in 2006, unfortunately that's a different Kyle Snyder who played last season (namely one who is 10 years older!) Give it a few years and they may be on the same team. |

Can I take the Lahman database and import every player who played MLB from 1985 to 2006 into one huge player database? And will it do so without duplicates for each season a player played?
Then I could take all those players and put them on their 1985 teams or into feeder leagues for those not drafted before 1985. |

Download the latest version of my database. The read me will tell you exactly what it is. This version is made for 2007 but my older versions will work on 2006 or 6.5
http://www.ootpmodsquad.com/mods/mod...OOTP2007DB.zip I think it may be exactly what your looking for and only requires a minimal amount of work (5 minutes) to be perfect. |
