Yeah...the SI website is always painfully slow for me as well(US based). It's actually discouraged me from checking out FM in the past as I just couldn't take the load times sprinkled with the timeout errors.

I have a T-1 at work(amongst 5 people), and my home connection is 15Mbps DS...and most sites fly for me.

Always slow for me as well here at work for a big global company as well as at home with the best cable internet you can get.

In this case, I think we'll have to weait until the European footy fans go to bed.

Marc

Just as an FYI, downloading the FM2007 demo was painful and often times out on me, hence my decision not to purchase it and stay with FM2006. I am assuming most of your customers for OOTP will be in NA so perhaps looking into lots of mirror sites now would be good to avoid any problems on download day.

I clicked on the link shortly after Marc posted it, but after numerous tries I've only managed to reach Firefox's timed out page.

Darn bandwidth-hogging soccer hooligans...

Edit: I got in! I, for one, welcome our new soccer hooligan overlords.

Just seconding a very good idea.

Secondly I now believe that Mr Duffy is related in some way to Richard III because he sure loves to torture us. (I am speaking of William S's Richard the III btw)

Time for SI to get a better website and upgrade their stuff.

You wanna run a business sometimes you have to spend the money.

Downloads here sucks big times.

The page and screns were quite zippy for me. For whatever that might be worth. Which is probably not much. So I'll go back to my cave and wait for March 23 now.

This afternoon the pages and downloads are working fine. Maybe all those pesky hooligans across the pond are asleep now, leaving bandwidth to those of us on the American continents.

Dongdo-pa Zhao, Yao-bang Shuang, Yoon-tau U and Koert van Barneveld..... ahhh, those good old OOTP name files.

On the positive side, the positional strength screens look interesting, and the face gen screen continues to titillate.

Maybe it's me but can you give me a brief description of what's being emasured in Team Ranking, Organizational Ranking, and Overall Ranking?

I saw some guys were ranked higher on the Organization as opposed to the team, how is that? Is overall ranking in comparison to the league and if so, who? The position player or the prospect?

I believe the organizational ranking is related to the minor league system.

Re: Positional Rankings

Now that a few of us have been able to view the new screenshots, I'll toss a question out there:

How do the "team rank", "organizational rank" and "overall rank" work? What to they describe?

Example: Is John Briggs the 4th best catcher on the team or 4th best player on the team? Or 4th best starter in the league? Is the "overall rank" a composite score for all catchers on my team compared with every other team's catching corps?

Tell me more, keepers of program knowledge!

(Apparently great minds do think alike... multiple posts on this same question while I was writing my own.)

I was guessing that but to me, the big league club is also part of the organization, maybe they didn't mean that. Anyhow I was noticing one of the players was tops in both columns but his ranking was far different. Just seemed funny.

team = ML catcher vs other ML catchers
org = catcher prospects vs other catcher prospects
overall = combined

for example:

Cris Tirado is their best ML reliever, but their ML relief crew sucks. Cris Tirado is also their best MR prospect and they have a good crop of relievers in the minors.

Dongdo-pa Zhao= Doug Show
Yao-bang Shuang= Shane Young (switched them around) nickname: Bang Bang
Yoo-tau U =Joe Smith or any other generic boring name
Koert van Barneveld= Kurt Barnfelt

This is what I end up doing anyway.
