Choosing which nations can be "involved" in our leagues?

I'm 90% sure this isn't really possible in 2006 and I was really hoping it could make it in 2007 but from what I read it doesn't appear possible.

Here is an example of what I would like to do.

Create an "African League" I don't really care which country it's based in but I'd like to be able to pick and choose which countries feed the draft pool. So for example I'd like to be able to say that only Zimbabwe, South Africa, Somalia, and Kenya feed the draft pool.

Now from what I understand, if I wanted to do a one league Universe, I could rig it to do this. But I'd also like to have other leagues in my Universe, like a a Western European League with the draft pool being supplied from ONLY Spain, Italy, France, Portugal. Or something like that.

Will this be at all possible in 2007? If not, I really hope that this is something that is strongly considered for 2008.

This is the one feature I've desperately wanted for a while now.

Why are you leaving Ghana out?

lol, well I was just using an example, ideally if I made an African league, I'd want all African countries involved.

You could do it with feeder leagues in the new version if you want. Set up one feeder league for each nation you want to use and have them feed the main league. Something like that.

The only easy way to do this is by using feeder leagues. Set up enough feeder leagues to supply the entire draft (i.e., so that the game won't have to create fictional players to supplement players graduating from the feeder leagues), base the feeder leagues in the countries you want the league's players to come from, and set the foreigner percentage for the feeder leagues to 0% (thus ensuring that every player in the feeder leagues is of the desired nationalities).

Depending on league sizes, you'd potentially need quite a few feeder leagues, and that could have a noticeable impact on sim speed - but sim speed is really only an issue for long term sims. If you're planning on playing the league day to day or week to week, the difference is negligible.

EDIT> Curse you ctorg! Of course I provided actual detail, so nyeh.

Sorry!

Yeah, your post was a lot more useful than mine anyway.

Never really thought of that, pretty good idea.

Hopefully this feature can be implemented into future versions.

Wink

As long as you're willing to pay the price of game slowdown, you can have an unlimited number of feeder leagues.

But really all I want to do is play.

So I'll try harder to be patient and hopefully the board will be patient with me.
And yes, I am still continuing my campaign to promote adding a 'mass select' option to Out of the Park 10.

Correct. There are only two levels of feeder leagues - high school and college - but you can have as many of each as you want - five, fifteen, two hundred if you really wanted.
