Webcast screen question...

First off, I really, really like the field graphic that gets used in this screenshot:

...Is it going to be possible to specify an image for use there? Someone, a while back, had posted a link to utility that spit out a very nice picture like that if you put in the appropriate dimensions, and it'd be really cool to be able to apply that picture to the webcast screen to get a little bit of the feel of the home park there.

The following response is completely untested and unsanctioned:

The ballpark graphic used on that screen appears to be stored with the skin data. In a typical install, this means you would find it in C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\skins\[skin name]\images\ - it's a standard PNG file, and in the case of the one I have (which is actually older than what's in the posted screenshot), the dimensions are 280x234.

I would assume that simply replacing that file with a graphic that you'd prefer to use would do the trick. But again, I haven't tried it, and as it's an out-of-game modification, I don't guarantee its effectiveness.

Is that what every in-game screenshot looks like? Or is this for some webcast feature I don't understand..?

There are two views for playing out any game. The Webcast view, which is what you see in the screenshot eriq linked, and the Broadcast view.

The Webcast view is intended to mimic the features and appearance of things like MLB's Gameday screens - stat intensive, visually sparse. The Broadcast screen is meant to mimic, well, a TV broadcast of a game - a larger field graphic, a scoreboard, and fewer stats.

It's up to you which you use when playing a game. You can, of course, switch back and forth between them at any time.

I see...I've always used the Broadcast, which would explain my unfamiliarness with Webcast.

The Webcast screen does look fantastic

Oh, yeah, I see no reason why I couldn't just globally replace the field image. I was wondering if one could be assigned on a team-by-team basis, the same way you can assign ballpark day/night images for the Broadcast screen.

No big deal, but I was just thinking it'd be kind of neat.
