TRTR : Day 3

By now I am sure you have heard all about many of the great new features and improved gameplay that OOTP2007 has to offer. As a little diversion to pass the time while you eagerly await "Release Day" Tiger Fan thought he would take you on a trip through one of his History of Baseball replays.

Wow, looks great. I've never been much into historical replays but might give it a shot (maybe up to WW2) in this version. Thanks for the write up!

Ernie Banks (512) = Mr Cub would end up with 382 homers but still never appeared in a postseason game. The Cubs never won a series, losing in 1909, 1911 and 1943. Their only other postseason appearance came long after Banks retirement, when they went down in 4 straight games to Houston in the 1989 NLCS.

Apparently the game is so accurate it effectively simulates the Cubbie curse. You code that one special Markus?

I heart Tiger Fan. I have always tried to get in to the historical side of things and now I will stick with it. Really. Because this time I can just enjoy the game and not worry about changing things as the years go by.

The stars are a little faint on that shot, but after playing a league for a month or so they would become the last thing I look at.

Can you change what stats are seen on that screen?

You can go back to 20-80 ratings if you'd like.

Very well done, Tigerfan and specially glad to see that OOTP finally got it right and the Red Sox achieve their rightful place in the game.

I was thinking the same thing, no code is necessary, the game's AI is so darn improved, it knows this!!

I was just about to comment on that as well. Heh.

Nice write-up, Tiger Fan. I'm really looking forward to giving the historical sims a test drive.

There is a W-L glitch for Roberto Sanchez. His record listed is -0. There is a spacing glitch right above that where is says Home Vs. Philadelphia.

Yeah, I think that glitch is caused by the length of the string to the right of it.

Perhaps you'll have to use acronyms in that control, just in case someone decides to put their team in "Fort Massapeaqua", or Philadelphia .

Both of the bottom lines look like a little too much info is trying to be shown.

Marcus might need to consider to cutting something out - 'Age'?

Another option is to shorten the first name to the first initial only.

Dola,

I'm not sure I like the Overall column being ratings.

I know it's late in the programming process and Marcus is fine tuning and correcting bugs, but would it be possible to change this column to overall stats?

Would definately require cutting first name to inital only to have enought space.

Well, I guess if Markus prefers it that way I can live with it

The only thing that really needs some minor tinkering would be the spacing.

p.s. Sorry about the mispelling of your name. I've known a Marcus and several other Mark's (in addition to me). I have to think when I type Marc or Markus.
