The problem is the new rookies don't get created at the league minimum age, so they can't play there, and once the players hit upper 30's and 40's they retire. So, you soon run out of players.
bump for Cooley

Guess you guys didn't notice where "Sammy Sosa" is playing this year? Lol in the MINORS of the Texas Rangers. He was a star player, raced for the homerun record one year, part of the Cubs team that "almost" made the world series after what now? 100 years? haha

Can anyone give the word on this? I'm thinking of a Jay Buhner or Edgar Martinez-type player (granted that Edgar was great the majority of his career) where their local popularity plays a major factor in being on the Major League roster. Maybe a modern day example would be Willie Bloomquist..

I don't know about the answer to your question, but I just wanted to give some respect to Willie Bloomquist.

Ugh...Willie might be a good guy, but it's almost a crime that he was given 250 at bats last season. The only major league role he should be given is a designated bench warmer. I think he's a perfect example of a guy with a huge local popularity that is the only thing that warrants his roster spot. It'd be nice to see this modeled in OOTP as well.

However, I'm mostly curious as to whether or not the AI recognizes a player's popularity. If not, then it would seem like that would work to an unfair advantage to the human-player. Any comments would be much appreciated...
