So we should be using Mogul for our hobbit leagues then?

That's all it is, man. Just plain silliness. Just a way to pass the time before release.

I see you are mellowing. You would have knocked us through a wall in your earlier incarnation. Using The Wolf alias is like having a controversial and polarizing yet entertaining posting style and putting it on ritalin.

The last post by MD was July 11th, 2006. First post by Wolf was July 27th, 2006. You be the judge. And FWIW, if Wolf is MD, I like this incarnation much better than the last.

I didn't have an earlier incarnation. I try not to be either controversial or polarizing. I don't take Ritalin.

You must really, really miss the guy.

I take gaming seriously. Some people don't, and, no, they don't have to. But silliness in gaming not only takes away from the hardcore gaming experience, it also gives non-gamers real ammunition to use against gaming and gamers.

It's your life and your gaming, and you can be just as silly as you like. But it just makes me cringe to read about it. I cringe even more when I have to listen to friends, relatives, and neighbors making fun of gaming because of some silliness that they read about online. Like Hobbit baseball.

OMG....

THis thread has become freakin hilarious. and I gotta agree with everyone, if Wolf is an alias, this alias is much better than the previous incarnation. and if you aren't just an alias Wolf, then you to must have been seperated at birth, but you had the less angry Childhood obviously :P

I had a great childhood. I have a great life. I'm not mad at anybody.

Your posting style is just eerily similiar. But then again, I have been accused of being of an alias of about 10 different people, so what do I know LOL

I would hate to think what your posting style would be like if you tried to be controversial. Of course we miss MD..he was always making things interesting in his own unique way and that made the time to release go by faster.

I see dead p(osters).

Good point. And I cringe to think what non-gamers would read into what this thread degenerated (word used advisedly) into. On the other hand, non-gamers would likely only come here looking for ammunition (my experience on porn forums), so…

A nun, a hooker and a masseuse walk into a bar…

But really all I want to do is play.

So I'll try harder to be patient and hopefully the board will be patient with me.
And yes, I am still continuing my campaign to promote adding a 'mass select' option to Out of the Park 10.

I don't know. I always saw games as something that's supposed to be fun, not all serious and "hardcore". But, that's just me, I suppose.

Personally, I'd say anyone who's that concerned about what others think should probably just lighten up, realize those people don't share their interest, that they will never, ever consider your computer gaming 'hardcore,' that you just shouldn't give a damn what they think, and that anything they say is unimportant enough to be laughed off.

But I guess that's just me.

The only thing is that each person's definition of what constitutes "serious" and "silly" in a game will vary. There is also the valid question of playability and game design... sometimes 100% realism isn't fun, it's tedious.

Which I guess is where user-selectable options come in...
