Yes, but you post enough words for all five.

What about global cities? Even if, let's say, Port-au-Prince isn't modelled, is at least Haiti's weather included? Or will it be snowing in January in the Caribbean?

I did as many US cities as possible because the data was present and I was focused on improving the Major League Baseball model.

Getting international city temp data is easy. Getting international precip data for the %chance of rain in a 24 hr period is tough. I've sort of run into a wall getting more cities done with my new baby and promotion.

If someone wants to help me, PM me, and we'll knock some more out.

So I take it that's a 'yes', it will snow in Haiti till I change it. Either now or later. I guess a more specific question should be, 'If a city isn't in the modelled group, what city/province/country serves as the default?'

Haiti has no weather specified at all.

http://www.weatherbase.com/

Port-au-Prince, Haiti

YEAR Jan. Feb. Mar. Apr. May Jun. Jul. Aug. Sep. Oct. Nov. Dec.
°F 84 81 81 83 83 84 86 86 86 85 84 84 82

OK, at this point we have a problem. Typically, weather data gives you inches of precip per month.

YEAR Jan. Feb. Mar. Apr. May Jun. Jul. Aug. Sep. Oct. Nov. Dec.
in. 52.1 1.3 2 3.1 6.1 8.6 3.8 2.9 5.5 6.5 6.5 3.3 1.4

What is needed is % chance precip per day per month, and that may have to be approximated.

Anyone have an answer for this?

How does the temperature change between day and night games?

The blog mentioned that playing a day game in St. Louis is August is miserable. I'm thinking night games should be cooler. The weather data example only has one temperature list for each month
Quote:
The file format is this:
Nation ID, City, Region, AVG Wind (in mph), AVG Temp °F in JAN, FEB,MAR,APR,MAY,JUN,JUL,AUG,SEP,OCT,NOV,DEC,AVG Chance of Rain in JAN, FEB,MAR,APR,MAY,JUN,JUL,AUG,SEP,OCT,NOV,DEC.

It's modified for time of day. It's generally hotter during daytime.

Uh, I figured that much.
Do you know if the drop in temperature from day to night is a constant for all cities?
