League question

I am very curious about the evolving of a league. Say you have two leagues in your universe, a modern MLB and an independent league starting out at a AA level, with 8,000 fans as the average attendance.

My question is, can this independent league evolve to become better than the MLB (possibly), or will it always average 8,000 fans and be a AA level league. What if that league starts signing stars away from the MLB. This is very curious to me.

You can change the financial settings of your league before the season begins. So if you wanted to have your league go from an 8,000 average attendance to a 10,000 average, you'd just enter in that value.

Right. I was just wondering if this had the potential of happening over the course of your universe. THAT would be great. Say an independent league team signed Albert Pujols one year, and slowly stars from the MLB began moving to that independent league.

In real life, more fans would start going to independent league games rather than MLB, team profits would go up, TV deals would be higher. Also, amateur players would be looking more at than independent league than the MLB.

I'm taking it this is a no...at least in the version. Just a thought I had.

I would think that it would be dependent on how "equal" you made the Indy league. If you set the financials to be the same as the "pro" league, I could see the Independent league "catching up" to some degree. It doesn't really have to be programmed in the game, it would just happen naturally. A few Indy teams might have great seasons, bring in a lot of cash, build on that success, etc, etc. Maybe the entire league starts to have similar success and you have the Indy "catching" the pro league.

Just a total guess though as I've never tried it!
