Jersey Style Mod Preview

This is the first demo of a series of jersey styles that will be available after launch. They should give non-graphic users all the flexibility that graphics users have enjoyed in the past with custom uniforms.

I'm assuming other than the main logo, that everything else we will have to edit ourselves? For example, for the jersey logo, we would have to shrink the main logo ourselves?

I know, very stupid questions from a graphics n00b.

Deft, did you name the logo file's to include the color so that you wouldn't have to edit the teams colors? It would be great if you released your mod with logos named in that fashion. I'll have to find the exact instructions on this.

Locate the little pull tab on the bottom left that say Jersey style:Stripes+. To totally change the jersey style you can pull that down and switch styles (plain, pin-stripes, alternate with dark uniforms, etc..). It will use the colors from jersey main color, secondary color and pinstripe color. So for this case all you need is to edit move the logo around in a picture to get it to be on the breast pocket. I have suggested that the location of the logo be selectable in the game. I hope your comments makes that more of a reality.

What I am going to release is jersey styles, not team custom logos and uniforms. By expanding the list of jersey styles, anyone who can find a logo online and can find out the colors RGB or pantone # will be able to create their own custom uniforms.

Deft, have you given any thought to putting some wrinkles in the jersey? I don't mean changing the 3D model, just adding some shaded areas. Your jerseys look great but the guy's torso looks perfectly round and smooth. It's freaking me out.

I have made some jerseys that have folds and shading. To use these you have to make a custom uniform. (requires graphics program)

The jersey styles only trigger off 3 colors so shading can only be created by the 3D image not by 2D shading the jersey. I hope the base jersey will have some more complexity to it at launch.

From the looks of the screen, these are uniform TEMPLATES, not custom uniforms. As such, they're usable with any uniform. The creator can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think how it goes is this:

-Install the mod (this may be something as simple as unzipping it into a folder)
-Launch the game and go to set up that team's uniform
-Select the jersey style you'd like (notice that dropdown in the lower left)
-Select the colors for the jersey. The appropriate parts on the jersey will automatically change, just like with the base jersey.
-Add logos as normal.

These templates appear to have been created to work just like the regular "basic" uniform already existing in-game. These new templates will allow you to have additional variety in your uniform looks... and I'll be loving it.

How, that is huge. That makes me feel so much better about the addition of facegen to the game. I'm still hoping we'll be able to have diffent hairstyles and such, but this will add a lot to the game in my opinion.

This is correct! The hardest part will be managing all of the options.

First of all, great job on the templates!

Second, my guess is there is going to be a need for better organization of the templates on the team colors/jersey/cap setup screen. With the possibility of having hundreds of different uniform templates, A dropdown selection system wouldn't be practical.

I know you have suggested this in another thread, but I just wanted to re-iterate the need for a dialoag box to select the templates from (similar to when you want to load a logo/texture)

Hopefully this can be put in before the release, or patched in afterwards.
