I have discovered things in OOTP2006 that I had never seen addressed in any posts until I bought them up, but that is expected since each person looks at and for different things in a game.
It sounds as though you're asking for everyone to have access to a beta version to find the bugs that he (and possibly he alone) would find. That's happened in the past - it was called "release date". It didn't go over so well.

Or are you asking to be the one additional player who gets early access, because you'll find the remaining bugs?

If the people who get previews come on here and start mentioning bugs they find, all that will do is open up the hornet's nest of people fretting about the quality of the game they will be receiving in a couple weeks and questioning you all about if this will be fixed and that will be fixed, etc.
Thats how you get rid of bugs.

I love baseball just as much as anyone here. I've had enough experience with other versions of OOTP to know what is good, what isn't, and what I'd like to see.

Nevertheless, I'll be enjoying my preview copy for the next five days.

I'll work on my post count after that.
No the previewers were not picked in any way, it was a "lottery" look it up!

I reckon you missed my original post that I won't be able to get the game until March 26 at the very soonest. If I had been on the list of 100, I would have had to tell them to give it to someone else.

I was just asking a question as to the purpose of the "preview". The reason I asked isn't of any importance to anyone on these boards.

Or at least the "bugs" those 100 people find. Everyone else will find their own little "bugs" when the game is released.

That's true of EVERY computer game released, and has been for quite some time now. Some games, of course, are worse in this regard than are others.

True of many games, though I do have a few that were good out of the box, but the more "customizable" a game is, the more "bugs" people seem to find.

Yes, I missed it.

The purpose of the preview is to stand a better chance of eliminating a number of additional bugs before general release, by having extra sets of eyes look at it. Perhaps I will find a bug or two after it's been released, but possibly there will be five less that I would have found, that instead were squashed thanks to the preview.

Ill be 32 on the 15th. Would have been a great birthday present if I was selected but it was not to be. I was hoping I would get a preview copy so I could see if I need to upgrade my video card before ootp7 is released in order to run facegen.

IIRC (and im sure someone will correct me if im wrong), the original idea for a 'preview' came from a beta tester to get more online league commishes to check out the product and pull them into the fold (sell games to 30 online league owners) and then that got expanded into a 'contest' to generate more pub and sell more preorders.

lets be honest here, its just a hobby for the user, but its a job for the creator.

And to add to that, it's very clear that the SI team are very serious about making this a game that can be enjoyed online once more. I really appreciated the way they went about contacting online commishes, and seem to truly care that folks are satisfied. Whoever that beta tester is, they deserve free tickets to a ballgame.

If my HD hadn't just decided to dump on me and die, I'd be right in the mix, trying to figure out if there was anything I could find wrong.

I am cautiously optimistic about this game.

But really all I want to do is play.

So I'll try harder to be patient and hopefully the board will be patient with me.
And yes, I am still continuing my campaign to promote adding a 'mass select' option to Out of the Park 10.

Hyperlink is your friend, isn't it? Have you been collecting sound-bite sites recently?

That was my first exposure to Sponge Bob… and I'm hoping it was my last. I agree more with the 'U is uranium' guy.

Yes, I did miss your sarcastic tone, since posts here don't kame a sound. you shouldn't assume someone understands a tone in a post.
