Notes from a Preview Winner
Hey Fellas -
I was one of the Preview winners and finally got it loaded and fired up last night. I plan on spending a lot more quality time with it on Thursday when I am "working from home" all day. However, I did get in about an hour last night and another hour before work this morning. A couple quick hit impressions as compared to 2006: - It's much faster. Everything seems to move so much quicker in 2007. There were times in '06 where I felt like I could get up for a soda waiting for a simple screen to load. That's not the case anymore. - FACEGEN is as cool as you'd think it is. Again, haven't gotten into as much as I'd like, but just having Faces in the league is very cool and gives an excellant sense of realisim. In only 2 hours of playing, I am already able to distinguish my key players from one another simply from their picture. It's also nice to not see Q'wong Song Lee come up as a lily white dude from Denton, Texas. - The league setup wizards work great! - My favorite feature has got to be SHOP PLAYER. I took a job with a "rebuidling" team and the SHOP PLAYER function is superhelpful especially around the deadline to dump that high priced talent. - I really like getting messages after trades letting me know the Fan's reaction to who is coming and who is going. I know I am just scratching the surface, but I am very excited about 2007. Especially when you consider that I got into OOTP for an ONLINE league (BLB), this version is going to have me spending a lot of time in Single Player. I can't wait to get deeper. Thanks for the forum. |

I believe so. I think Markus said that there are millions and millions of combos. Some of them I have look kind of similar, probably because they are all the same cartoonish style graphics, but they are different enough you can pick out players pretty easy with just their facegen.

I'm seeing a lot of differences and, to be honest, it's remarkable how much just the uniform changes a player. When I traded a player and he was suddenly in the new uni... it really made him look different in my eyes. It's a cool feature. You even get a picture of yourself as the GM. Kind of strange that you're in a baseball UNI though. They need an option for that.

Try this cool trick...
Pick a player and go into the editor and set his birthday so that he's way older (like 55 or 60) then regen his face (not a new pic, just hit the "same photo"). ![]() Then take the same player and edit his morale into the negative in all categories and do the same thing. ![]()

It has been erased like a slate, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Frodo. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... beings will come Frodo. Beings will most definitely come." - Gladden Field of Dreams |
