Importing Players

I am not sure if this is possible, but here is a question: Can I create a universe in 2007 and then import just the players from my fictional league in 2006? I'm a little bit attached to these guys (I always do this when the next version of the game comes out!)?

I haven't tested it but there are functions to import and export just rosters when you setup your league.

Why not just start with your league in 2007, and add any additional leagues that you may want?

I guess without knowing how the transfer system will work, I wonder how the game handles various settings I may want, like age limits at the low minor league level. Or the financial end of it. Man, I cannot wait to get my hands on this game!

Age and roster size limits are available for minors.

What exactly is it about the financial end you wish to know?

Well from what I am reading, the coefficient can be automatically set to reflect the reality of the year of the league and gradually adjusts itself as the league goes forward. I just wonder how it will effect the dynamics of the 2006 league with reference to the rich teams vs. the poor. Will the current salary structure become more realistic? Ten years into my league, it is opening day and there are 20 or so really good players that no team can afford to sign.

I tested importing and exporting rosters tonight. I exported from Cubby's latest roster set and imported into the new game it worked great. It placed everyone on their correct teams. You can also import stats which worked just fine also.

How do the financials import? will it be exactly as it is in the 2006 file? And what happens when you make changes? BTW, I ended up giving all the poor teams money in hopes that some of those FA would be signed...

You can import just the rosters and import just the stats if you want. Then it will keep whatever financials you setup in your 2007 game. Or if you want your 2006 financials and other settings imported you can import your whole 2006 game using that importer. Many importing options.
