Injuries

Haven't seen much, if any, discussion on this. Can any of the BETA Testers comment?

Basically, how are they with the various settings. Do the occurances seem realistic when set to normal?

What about the new "off-field and off-season" injuries that have been added, are the occurances realistic?

TIA

I'm fairly certain that Markus toned down injury frequency from real life.

It's one of those things where everyone says they want realism, but they would be screaming if they had as many injuries show up in the game as does in reality.

From what I've seen, the injuries seem very reasonable to me. I haven't played with the off-field injuries too much. I know that I'm glad the hard-coded ones were replaced by an editable file, so I can modify them, though. I've already polled my league owners, and they like the idea of off-field injuries, as long as those don't include deaths. But that's just our choice, and the game allows us that freedom.

I think injuries have been toned down to similar to OOTP 6; that is to say, far, far too light.

I've not yet seen a DL look like a real one.

I think the answer for this in future versions is for the frequency of injuries, especially off-field injuries, to be editable in the injuries file instead of being hard-coded. Maybe just an extra number indicating the percentage chance of an injury occuring, along with the min/max days missed and severity of the injury, would be sufficient to create realistic results.

Is the format of the injuries.txt file the same as in 2006?

When you say toned down too much, do you mean at normal settings?

Do we still have the 6 options - disabled, very low, low, normal, high, and very high?

If so, then when you say they're too low, have you tried turning it up 1 or 2 settings? Or are you saying they're too low at the highest setting?

That's one of the things I liked, being able to adjust the setting, especially when starting a league in 1901 and not having a lot of players. I'd leave them disabled for the first couple of seasons and then gradually bring them up to normal over a period of years.

Almost. There is an extra field or two at the end of the new one.

Normal settings are too weak. This is entirely my opinion; I offer no facts for it. As for injury options, I am pretty sure that is unchanged. I'll check after my 2006 lg sims.

If I am doing day to day simming, I crank it up to the highest setting.
