Question From A Semi-Noob

Last version I owned was v4 or v5. With this version, can I import the entire major league history through 2006, then import one of the roster sets for 2007 and continue from there into the future with or without fictional players?

With 2007, yes. With any prior version, no.

Hmm I never thought about that. Good idea! How would you go about doing that though?

On the first screen of the historical league creation wizard, it asks you what year you'd like to start your league in. Below that is a check box as to whether or not you'd like to import the league history. If you check that box, when the league is created, all history from the database you're loading comes into the game up until the starting year of your league.

Wait, I think I misunderstood the question.

You want to use the historical import feature, but then on TOP of that use one of the custom roster sets?

Hmmm. I'm not quite sure if that's possible. I'll see if I can get someone a little more historical to come respond. :P

If the roster makers started their league file by importing all of the history up to 2006, then this is taken care of.

Yea that's what I thought he was asking so I was curious how you'd use a historical database and then import a roster and have those players match up correctly. Not sure if that's possible.

I believe Markus actually posted that this is not possible in another thread.

Or you could just use the roster file that gets put out there and have everything pretty much that you are looking for. I would expect the history to all be there in a roster file that is put out. I would also expect there to be other things as well that you are not expecting to see.

All major league history will be in the game, and the really cool thing also is that the historical imports will bring in the award winners and things like that as well.

Oh that sounds so beautiful! Are you working on these rosters right now?
