OOTP 2007 skins

I presume there'll be skins to give the game different looks if desired.

Any chance for an out-of-the-box grayscale skin? I just think it would be really cool to use when doing leagues back in the 1800s or first half of the 1900s.

It is a prety safe bet that the 2K6 skins will be in there. I wonder if any attention was given to something like this considering they've made leaps in improving what was broken in 2K6. I doubt they added any.

You could always create your own.

Yeah, probably. Or I can always hope that a beta tester who does skinning sees this and sets one up in the next 2 weeks.

We've got 2 skins shipping this year

1 is the one you've seen already
The other, added this week, is a retro green and brown "OOTP Classic" skin

This is one area where I hope will get more attention from the community. I know from playing WSM, how much different skins can breathe new life into playing the game. (and boy was there a lot of skins for WSM/FM)

2006 skins dont line up to 2007 skins in some areas, so work will need to be done if you want to use one of them.

That's one of the things I was hoping to get to, update the skins I did for 2006 for use with 2007. And maybe make some new ones.

I agree. I would love a greyscale skin.

Could someone please post the componets needed to put a skin together and their various specs here? It would give people who weren't testing the game something helpful to do, and then some of the testers could test the prospective skins.

I sincerely hope not. That was my personal favorite from last year.

I personally liked the wood-grain mod one that was created for 6.5...

...which I modified (for OOTP5 at least) to be mahogany-wood grain. I would love to see a wood-grain again for 2007.

Just started up and the Classic skin is close. I imagine it's more difficult to modify this skin compared to earlier versions.

Don't get discouraged if it takes, oh, FOUR MINUTES for the game to switch over from the blue-and-silver skin to the 'classic'. Just take a bathroom break and kiss your wife.

But really all I want to do is play.

So I'll try harder to be patient and hopefully the board will be patient with me.
And yes, I am still continuing my campaign to promote adding a 'mass select' option to Out of the Park 10.

Grayscale should be no problem. One could take the green/tan skin and open each graphic, applying grayscale to it and saving it to a new folder for the new skin.

If I get time this weekend, I'll give it a go for you.
