Historical League Question

I have never played this game but have played PureSim baseball for a few years. That game is losing its support so I am considering purchasing this game. I have searched the forums but have not found a definitive answer to this question. Can you import players from any year and put them on a team? Basically I want an all time greatest players league. For instance have Ted Williams hit against Roger Clemens when both were in there prime. That is the kind of league I currently run at the school that I teach at. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can do that.

Its a matter of setting up exactly what you want to import from the Lahman db.

Well it's easy to do, but it might be a little tedious and time-consuming. You can import any player individually from the Lahman DB.

There are some other threads on this subject:

All-Time League
and
Franchise Stars Rosters '06

The school at which you teach.

But really all I want to do is play.

So I'll try harder to be patient and hopefully the board will be patient with me.
And yes, I am still continuing my campaign to promote adding a 'mass select' option to Out of the Park 10.

Roughly 98% of all OOTP questions beginning with these words can be answered "yes." This one is no exception.

Excuse the persnickety retorts of my fellow denizens.

They get testy this time of year. In about a week it will start looking like Lord of the Flies on this board.

Hey, we've already had, what, 3-4 riots in the beta forum this past week. You should have read what battists said. It'd peel paint off a battleship.

Yeah, but which class of battleship? Iowa class? North Carolina class? Pennsylvania class? The class of ship makes all the difference!

In light of my last question. Since I am pulling in players from every year under the sun what would be the best year to have the league start. Obviously different players would be better during different years but what would be a good year that would kind of even it out a bit?

Probably your favorite year. If you want a competitive era, where pitching and hitting were in balance, and HR's were something that sluggers hit, not shortstops, try the mid 80's. 1985 had a lot of different styles of play.

Another question about the league proposed above. Can I export stats from individual teams to another program like excel to print out? Is there an option in game to print out stats for individual teams. I would like to print out updated stats for each team in the league weekly or daily.
Thanks
