Thanks Jonah!
![]() A couple of things: Championship Manager is now Football Mananger (or Worldwide Soccer Manager in the USA) for 2 year. And the baseball database is from Sean Lahman, not Chris. |

"One shudders to think of what the future will bring."
Amen, Jonah.

At work I have been called Chris for the last 6 months by this guy in the next department. It always happens around other people, though, so I don't want to embarrass him by correcting him. At this point, it would be easier to just legally change my name to Chris. Let's just say that getting called Chris seems to be going around.

'Chris' must be a generic I-didn't-quite-catch-your-name name. When I was in school one of my teachers called me Chris, one Stan (a misreading of my middle name) and three Tracy (my sister's name. Don't ask).

Some teachers if they teach several siblings at the same time or even over a few years will tend to just say the wrong name from time to time. It was particularly weird for one classmate I had in high school who not only had our teacher teach his siblings, but also his parents, aunts and uncles. He definitely would call him by his father's or uncles' names.
