TRTR : Day 17
The Expansion Wizard behind the Curtain
In previous versions of OOTP, if you wanted to expand an existing league, you were more or less out of luck. http://www.ootpbaseball.net/clubhous...gid=26&id=1295 |

Expansion is an awesome feature and one that I am looking forward to utilizing.

On the expansion question, what if, to use the example from the article, I didn't know that November 17th was the day of expansion and I had told the game to sim until December. If prior to this I had the game set to automatically run expansion, would it blow right through the expansion draft and everything without me getting to protect my players or would it notify me that I had to create a protection list and let me create it?

This will probably be the first way I play with real rosters. Expand to 32 teams and take over one. I remember Acclaim's All-Star Baseball had this and it was the only way I played that game. Expand, draft, and see how long it took to become competitive.

How does the game deal with the next amateur draft after expansion in regards to draft order?
Does it give the expansion teams the #1 & #2 pick, and how does it determine who picks first? TIA

It gives the first pick in the amatuer draft to the team that selected 2nd in the expansion draft.

If you have a full minor league system with six affiliates, does the computer focus more on players who are ready for the majors? Can you get by without having to protect some top prospects down in A-ball?

So we can only expand an even number of teams? What about when a league folds one team and then adds three? This must not be possible then.
What if I don't want my minors to expand along with my majors, can I prevent this?
