So either you're friend didn't input the discount code, didn't have a discount code to begin with and ordered anyway, or entered the discount code and didn't check to make sure the discount was applied before he hit the "Submit Order" button. I fail to see how Marc should be involved with any of these scenarios.

I agree with this. If there is more to it, like an error on elicense's part etc. than it should be PM'd to Marc or elicense should be contacted. If it was simply the error of the person ordering than seems to me it's their problem, not Marc's or elicense.

So it says that it'll be released to pre-orderers by 1 am Thursday, but what time zone is that? GMT?

Either way, I'm excited!

Are we getting e-mailed a link for download on Thursday or will it just be a matter of it being up for everyone to download but just our licenses working that day?

You know, despite the discounts, I never pre-ordered. But getting it sooner was sufficient to make me break that habit.

I would guess 9 am if they're just going to release it a day before the main release...

The correct answer is...not soon enough.

It will be posted only on the forums so people who check just once every few months won't even know it's available. But then again, those aren't the people who preordered, so it doesn't really matter. I think that everyone who orders this game should receive a $7 discount, no matter when they purchase, how many versions they purchased in the past, or if they even have internet access. Those that purchased a CD copy of Season Ticket Baseball in 2002 should receive a free upgrade of OOTP 2007, in CD form, delivered in person by Marc Duffy. THAT'S called good marketing and customer service, folks, and it's something any software company who wanted to be taken seriously should do automatically. Why alienate even one possible buyer simply to make hundreds of others happy by giving a generous offer? There's really no excuse for sloppiness and I might just consider giving up text baseball games as a result. However, I will not cancel my preorder (for which I received about ten email offers, each giving increasing discount percentages - I eventually purchased and took advantage of the 120% discount); I will simply sell the two licenses for $100 apiece to unsuspecting old men who don't check their email and think that they're buying the rights to download the 2008 version bundled with Sean Lahman's database and his credit card numbers. Then, I'll take the $200, send $7 via PayPal to 28 dissatisfied purchasers of prior versions who mistakenly deleted their email discount offers, use the remaining $4 to buy a pint of Guinness at that one guy's virtual bar who keeps advertising on these boards (how DOES that guy make any money?), and with that mild buzz will post non-stop until the first patch is released for download.

p.s. Thanks for making the early download option available!

There will probably be an e-mail sent out to everyone who preordered. Then, some folks are going to get it quickly and post. Those who don't have it yet, will spam the board because they don't have it. Duffy will have to give the ol' "It hasn't distributed yet' excuse when really, it takes a long time to hit the send button on thousands of e-mails.

I really look forward to the spamming of the board when some folks aren't getting the e-mail fast enough.
