But then again, those aren't the people who preordered, so it doesn't really matter. I think that everyone who orders this game should receive a $7 discount, no matter when they purchase, how many versions they purchased in the past, or if they even have internet access. Those that purchased a CD copy of Season Ticket Baseball in 2002 should receive a free upgrade of OOTP 2007, in CD form, delivered in person by Marc Duffy. THAT'S called good marketing and customer service, folks, and it's something any software company who wanted to be taken seriously should do automatically. Why alienate even one possible buyer simply to make hundreds of others happy by giving a generous offer? There's really no excuse for sloppiness and I might just consider giving up text baseball games as a result. However, I will not cancel my preorder (for which I received about ten email offers, each giving increasing discount percentages - I eventually purchased and took advantage of the 120% discount); I will simply sell the two licenses for $100 apiece to unsuspecting old men who don't check their email and think that they're buying the rights to download the 2008 version bundled with Sean Lahman's database and his credit card numbers. Then, I'll take the $200, send $7 via PayPal to 28 dissatisfied purchasers of prior versions who mistakenly deleted their email discount offers, use the remaining $4 to buy a pint of Guinness at that one guy's virtual bar who keeps advertising on these boards (how DOES that guy make any money?), and with that mild buzz will post non-stop until the first patch is released for download.

p.s. Thanks for making the early download option available!

Too late. The world is divided into the bad side and Dagrims'. But always a pleasure to watch it unfold.

Awesome. I come straight to the message boards and can't remember the last time I visited the main page. I'm all set now, thanks a bunch...

Hey, just saw your post. Mine wasn't directed towards you personally at all! I was just in a goofy mood and decided to make a silly post. I actually was taking some mild jabs at other posters who have gotten quite distraught about not receiving discounts they feel they're owed. I just used your post as a starting point, but it didn't have anything to do with you so I probably shouldn't have quoted it. Sorry for giving you that perception.

Barf. I just ordered it 11:30 CST. I'm guessing I missed out on the early release dealio.
