Purchasing a new monitor for OOTP2007....help please.
Hi guys,
I'm buying a new monitor for ootp2007. (all my upgrades to my computer thus far are because of OOTP....pathetic huh?) I'm looking at a gateway 19" widescreen. I'd like room to put all my minor league tema rosters on one screen. I read somewhere on the boards that OOTP2007 auto adjusts to your monitor and will display based on monitor reolution size....am I right? I don't really need the widescreen for HD purposes....just for OOTP2007.....does it make sense? Will I notice a difference? I have a 17" monitor now. I also don't really want to mess up my other games by making them all elongated like regular TV looks on widescreens.....am I going to screw myself by getting a widescreen and hating normal non-widscreen games? Thanks for any advice, Corey

Widescreen works great - no problems here with OOTP6. A lot of the screens don't give you more stuff on the screen though.
Nothing is stretched out. Screens that are primarily text seem to have a little bit better spacing between the columns than with standard monitor. Hopefully, OOTP 2007 uses widescreen montors to show a little bit more info. But even just with the better spacing previously mentioned, I would probably go with a widescreen vs. a standard. If all you are picking up the widescreen for is OOTP 2007, I would wait though to see what people who have widescreens think about 2007 on the widescreen. I haven't tried any really old games yet. Mostly, the screens show a little more than with a standard monitor (CIV4 and Oblivion) but these are newer games that picked up the correct screen resolution.

A Widescreen works great with OOTP 2006. I have a laptop, 17" widescreen, resolution @ 1920x1200. Depending on your resolution settings and on how many minor league teams you have, you can see all of them on the transactions screen, as well as your 40-Man roster and one additional list (Waivers, DL, etc.).
![]() A widescreen is also great for statistical analysis. If you customize views to show the information you want to see, you can fit alot onto one page. ![]() There are, however, pages that do not make good use of the widescreen functionality and have alot of blank space. One example would be the HTML reports. For me, this is not a big deal because it is rare to find real websites that make use of this functionality. The one waste of space that bothers me the most is on the schedule screen. As you can see, the games of the two subleagues are displayed in columns, and you must scroll down to see the bottom games. It would be nice if this screen could be laid out better, particularly for widescreen users. ![]()
