Talking Do I have enough disk space?

Anticipating some very long and detailed hist/fict universes going forward with OOTPB 2007, I decided to upgrade my external HD/backup/storage to the WD MyBook PRO Edition II. I now have 1 terabyte of space available. Is that going to be enough?

This should have been a poll.

I am beginning to hope I do too. I have a MacBook 2GhZ Intel Core Duo with Memory of 512 MB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM. Anyone know how I'll be in terms of storage?...especially if I'm going to use FaceGen?

512 MB of RAM is likely to be on the low side. I have 1 GB on my eMac, and one of the other Mac guys was recommending 2 GB, but I doubt you'll have to go that far.

But really all I want to do is play.

So I'll try harder to be patient and hopefully the board will be patient with me.
And yes, I am still continuing my campaign to promote adding a 'mass select' option to Out of the Park 10.

How big is your HD?

Would this be enough of everything... I have a (I dunno what I'm talking about by the way) AMP Sempron 2600+ 1.6 ghz, 856 mb ram. 30 gigs of space I could use. I can't even find where it says what kind of video card or hard drive. I too, would really like to be able to use that Facegen thing.

Newegg has a 500GB external HD that I plan on picking up next weekend. Its down to $150 so I figure its time to make the leap.

No.

We have a tester that fills up a terabyte of space a week while using some of the new automated data dump tools.

If you are in Canada, Buy Best has a sale on RAM: 1 gig for $109. Cheap enough upgrade. For hard drive space, I defragmented and got rid of any useless program. I could only free up 33 gigs (I have to do something about my music situation still...). Any testers or luck 100 have any problems with only 30 gigs or so of hard space? Otherwise, is the external hard drive the way to go?

I just picked up a 1GB stick for my laptop from Newegg for 83.99. I would check out Newegg as im sure you could beat Best Buy's prices. Ive had great luck with them.

It all depends on how much of the almanac reports you'll be saving every year and the level of detail that you want. If you're saving all boxscores and game logs every year, you'll fill up a HD in a hurry.

Wasn't there an item in the 2006 game guide which gave an idea about HD space likely to be used ? Something on the lines of-" If you have full major leagues plus 4 levels of minors and stat level set to very high it will take Xmb for season 1 " There may be a similar item this year.

If it isn't in the manual or game guide, the procedure to do this, and what it includes, needs to be in an FAQ. There will be many who will want to know and finding out the following season is not the time to find out you didn't do it correctly.

Thanks, I'll check them out, though I don't feel too ripped off...Just saw a Dell flyer that has daily specials next week, and a 250 gig external hard drive for $89 sounds pretty good too. It is only available on March 21.

2 minutes later....I checked out Newegg and they don't ship internationally. Boo!

if you are looking for RAM - newegg has 240-pin DDR2 800 2 x 1gb kits from Patriot for $165 after rebate. this stuff can handle an aggressive overclock as well.

If you have a PC, just right-click on "My Computer" and get properties.

You'll get something like this:

CPU, Processor & RAM are in the "Computer" section there. To see how much drive space you have, open up "My Computer", right click on your hard drive(s) and get Properties again.
