Creating History for League question

When creating history for a brand new league do you recommend.....

1) set league to commish mode
2) unemployed
3) go on vacation

Then sim years ahead and then pick a team to take over.

Is this the correct way to do it?

I would go with 1 or 2, probably with 1, creating just the commish player, simming X years and then creating the GM i will play with and asigning him to the team i want to manage.

I like to have a separate player for commish (that i name "League Commish" and another for playing (that i name with my real name), this is not needed but how i like to play.

The reason i wouldn't go with 3 is that if you take over a team and then you go on vacations, the wins/loses record etc is assigned to your player as even being on vacations, you are the GM of that team, so i prefer to start fresh once i have simmed the years i wanted to have a league history.

Agreed, that's I handle that.

What sort of league? You could set up a league with 2006 players, add full minors, fill those minors with ghost players, import full history, and be playing a real world type sim in about 60 minutes.

I think the roster set guys are going that direction; they are putting a lot of prospects in the minors, so for the first years you will see a lot of talent that you see on Baseball America start to hit the majors.

The full history import is slow after about WW II. That's due to a huge number of retired players it must import. It is something that you start, then set aside to go have dinner.

But, once done, it's like starting your universe with a fully intact baseball-reference.com inside the game.
