Ratings Recalc & Short Careers

I was wondering what the impact of having the Ratings Recalc feature running on short careers. For example, players like Cy Bentley and Hugh Campbell had one season careers in the 1800s but typically have nice careers in OOTP2006 (both were promising but met untimely deaths after their first season in real life). How does ratings recalc effect players who have short careers? Bentley and Campbell are extreme examples. Also wondering how it might effect WWI/WWII shortened careers.

J.R. Richard is a good example of a player stopped at the prime of his sensational career. He is just as great in OOTP 2007. But when player recalc sees that he has no stats in real life, it defaults to normal player development for that particular age.

I like the alternate universe of seeing a long and stellar career for him, but the number seem realistic. Same happens for Shoeless Joe.

The default setting is three-year recalc which keeps Ted Williams and other WWII vets smoothed out over their careers, but there is some decline to be aware of.

LeGrande Orange and WebComedian, two of our other beta testers, would have better answers and details than me regarding the WWII sims.

The Arod/Garlon 2.1 database adds the WW2 years back by averaging the 3 years before and after the time lost. Seems to be the best way to handle them
