The Development Curves

Bob Dylan once wrote a song wherein he said "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now." Dylan, of course, was a bit more political than your average OOTP player, so what that has to do with anything is questionable. But then, you could say that about everything that's ever been written about the sublime question of how a player ages--perhaps the one topic in all of baseball that the numbers have a hard time fully describing.

The amount of work put into making the development and aging engine more robust is really, really encouraging. Great work guys!

Striving Toward Duplicating the MLB Experience

I enjoyed reading the explanation of how player development and aging have been factored into this upcoming 2007 edition, which looms ever closer to release. Having read this will make me all the more anxious to start playing the 2007 version. Baseball has so many interesting nuances that appeal to the real fans, who love to digest the stats, such as I do. This comprehensive stat element is one of the basic reasons why so many of us have been so absorbed with this game.

How does this skills changing and developing at different times effect leagues that are converted over?

Thank you

I must say first i visit the site everyday. I don't say much because i figured my opinion wouldn't matter. Im totally disabled so this game is one of the things that helps me forget about the pain. Needless to say i play OOTP constantly. I have offered my time on the Beta team with no response. What i have learned is that if i say what i have to say good or bad thats what OOTP is looking for so i am going to start saying what needs to be said. Here is my first response in the new found approach.

WOW THAT WAS A GREAT ARTICLE !!!!!

Thanks for the time you and others spent on doing this.

In regards to pitching, how much randomness is there?

Will we still get some Roger Clemens, Steve Carlton, Greg Maddux types who pitch very well into their late 30's and even early 40's?
