You're not the only one with this problem. A friend of mine that has the game just called me and ran into the same issue.

It sounds like something went wrong, the best advice that I can give is to redownload the game and then try the patch again. Make sure to back up all your saved games and any other customizing you've done. If you have any more specific info, then I might be able to help a little more.

Problem solved.
The installer made me choose which volume to install it on, but I could also choose an alternate path (i.e. not the default one).
Since I had my copy of OOTP in a different path, I choose that one. And the mess-up begun.
So I downloaded again the setup file, leaving the default path (only choosing the volume), and then I re-run the installer, once again without messing around with the path.
Everything worked fine this time, so maybe it's better not to alter the default path.

Did you guys find a memory leak or something that you fixed? I've had no problems with stability in any of the versions but since I patched the whole game loads and saves and closes WAY faster.

Pre beta patch, it was taking about a minute of the opening loading screen and about 2.5 minutes to load the league. Now it's about half that on both counts. I don't know what you did but I love it!

As others have reported, whenever a pitcher gets injured for the team a human is managing, the game crashes. On the down side, it's happened in 3 straight games for me.

On the plus side, it means a pitcher for my team can never get injured...'cause it he does, the crash just means the game has to be replayed.

It's a bigggggggg pproblem.

I hope this gets fixed when your A.GM DFA a good person like Alfonso Soriano,Tim Hudson or so on they should automatically be put on the Trading block because so they don't get released and get nothing in return but at least I got a 1st round Draft Pick for Soriano because the Anahiem Angels of LA signed him as a Free-Agent.
Alos the Rule 5 Draft needs to be fixed so the 1st round is the MLB portian,2nd round Triple-A and so on.
Also the Expansion Draft needs to be fixed because in real life if lets say the Yankees lost Andy Phillips in the Draft they would pull back the rest of their unprotected 1B/3B so they couldn't get Drafted.
Four things I would like to see in the Patch in this years version is one in Player and Pitcher Information is if they were Drafted is if yes by which team and if not Drafted say undrafted. Second Team Needs meaning lets say the Reds needs are a Catcher,LF,SP,Blue Chip Prospect and so on. Third Rumor Mill like lets say the Rangers are looking to trade Sammy Sosa to Diamondbacks for Carlos Gonzalez,Juan Cruz,Andy Tracy and a Player to be named later and that option needs to be added to the game. Fourth one Automatic Relocation by a Computer GM like in Season Ticket Basketball,Automatic Expansion happening after the Diamondbacks and Devil Rays enter the League by the Computer GM,Team Reports Page like in NHL Eastside Hockey Manager,Minor League team contracts with a MLB team and finally Unsigned Prospects Page like in NHL Eastside Hockey meaning signing our Unsigned Draft Picks to contracts would have to be added at sometime

Alright guys, I added information to Marc's second post with all of the TT numbers that have been claimed fixed in this beta patch!

As I wrote, apologies if the descriptions aren't too great. If your TT isn't on this list, then chances are it hasn't been fixed in this patch, UNLESS one of the following occurred:

a. Markus fixed it and didn't tell me.
b. The same bug was logged twice
c. Markus fixed something unrelated that fixed your bug without us realizing it.

Again, if you're using the beta patch, feel free to tell us if you can verify that anything on that list has either been fixed or not fixed correctly.

3342 [TXT] Injury comes before the play

Steve, I reported this one quite awhile ago and believe the first patch fixed it.
At least I haven't seen it since installing the first patch while playing out over 80 games. So unless someone else is reporting it again I do believe it is fixed.

FWIW I'm using the first official patch and not testing the beta. Playing a very stable solo league and don't have any real issues holding me back at the present time

I just saw that this TT was listed as fixed in the patch. Hooray! Now I'll have to download it and try it.

I hope this is in relation to the way the AI just trades off it's AAA average players without 2nd thoughts. I have found a way for it to give up star players and 1st round draft picks and still every average AAA player up to 10 picks for one 5 star player of mine and I use hard trade settings when I play.
So, I really hope this is what it is adjusting or improving.

I'm sorry, but we can't address any of these issues without a TT reference . . . if it has been logged in Tech Support, Markus will have an opportunity to review and fix it, although the above is the list of what is likely to be in the final patch #2. Unfortunately, I don't know all of the reported issues off the top of my head!

I don't have a TT but some Players and Pitchers are still getting DFA when they still have Minor League Options left like Fausto Carmona,Ben Johnson and so on. Also when a good Player or Pitcher gets DFA shouldn't they also get put on the Trading Block? Also have a Players and Pitchers who get Claimed of Waviers but don't go to the team that Claimed them.

I'm sorry to come across like a hard-head... I appreciate that you're finding issues that need to get resolved, but if you want them to get resolved, you must report them in the Tech Support forum.

Markus intends to fix any issues that he has an opportunity to review, but he won't be fixing EVERY issue in this patch.

actually, this is not the way it works. there are separate drafts for major league, AAA and AA. each has multiple rounds.
