Just my 2 cents, not from the horse's mouth, and that's not to say he won't do it. But, in the past I know that's been mentioned, particularly when things like the Rule 5 have been brought up.

It might be worth adding that adding greater detail to Rule 5 could well cause the a.i. problems too that would take until OOTP2011 to sort out!
There's a reason that humans serve as GM's of real baseball teams. They may act like brainless automatons at times, but they are more sophisticated in their ability to analyze complex situations than your average computer -- most of them, anyway!

I still think that there needs to be an option to turn off the automatic updating of ballpark factors.

People should have this option. It's just frustrating to have to copy stadium.dat files each year when all it would be is modifying or unselecting an option.
