Question about "Minor League Transactions"

In Manager Options ...

What exactly is this? Is it promotion/demotion among the minor league levels?

How does it differ from plain old "Transactions"?

I'm trying to play as a true GM, so I have my managers setting lineups/depth/pitching staff on all levels, but I'm keeping all roster moves.

I assume I should keep "Minor League Transactions".

I read it literally for "Transactions: Signing, Releasing Players, etc."; those are things that a GM does.

"Minor League Transactions" I see as promotions and demotions among the minor league levels, but not to and from your ML roster because that's covered under "Roster Moves."

Like you do, I delegate "Minor League Lineups/Depth/Pitching" to my minor league managers. Everything else is me.

So this way I am in charge of all roster moves throughout the organization and I am managing the parent club, but I am not managing the affiliates.

Yes, it's promotion and demotion in the minors, obviously not including promotions to the major league club. Sometimes, normally if you're a bit shorthanded at a position, the AI may also sign minor league free agents- quite a few of them, at times. I haven't noticed that the AI ever releases anyone with this enabled, but I don't play with any roster limits in the minors; I imagine releases would be taken care of automatically, for better or worse, if you have a cap on minor league roster sizes.

Hope that helps.
