If your asking should you patch your version of OOTP, I say yes. It really doesn't matter which computer it is on, you probably want to patch both for consistency. The patch includes everything from the first patch as well, so you only have to patch once.

Hope that helps.

This is a reply to "bp" who asked whether the "interupt simming games" issue had been logged.

Logged as TT# 2037.
Another thread on this matter exists, but i wasn't sure if this made its way into the list of small bugs fixed.

Mac problem here, too

I ran the update patch on my Mac (OS X 10.4.8, G4 PowerBook, 1 GB RAM) and also get the start-die thing. I'm download fresh now to see what happens with a clean install.

Sigh. These Mac patches never seem to go off w/o a hitch, do they?

I don't understand why, because I have yet to have a problem patching. I wonder if there is a relationship to G4/G5 and Intel Macs. That might be something to watch.

Downloading new gets me v 2.0.1.43. I'm about to d/l the patch again to see if running it over the fresh install makes a difference.

Installing the patch over a clean install of OOTP appears to have worked. So if any of my brother Mac users run into the launch-die problem, give that a shot.

Sorry, it was marked as feature not supported/possible. I don't know anything more to tell you as we don't get info most of the time when it comes to Markus' decisions on what is getting fixed.

I don't know. Only Markus can answer that question. I just reported what I see in the test track system where the bug was logged.

That's good information. hopefully one of the mods will add this to the common problems section in tech support.

I'm not sure the in-game "Check for Updates" option is detecting 2.0.2 for download. I didn't know 2.0.2 was available until coming here and checking in the forums because the game kept telling me I was up to date all week.

This has its own thread, but no TT yet, down in Tech Support. I, among others, had the same issue.

What do you mean by "a clean install"? I downloaded the game for the first time yesterday, and then downloaded the patch and I'm having the same problem, i.e. doesn't load the game. What should I do?
Thanks so much! I love OOTP and don't wanna miss out.

THis is kinda crappy having to download the complete file all over again everytime you add something new. Why can't you just add a file that patches to the recent past patch that only includes the new fixes/patches?

Well, that's how it's supposed to work, and it worked just fine on my machine and a lot of other people's machines.

I always save patches I dl for anything in the event that sometime in the future, for some reason, I may need to reinstall the game.

Download latest Mac version or patches?

This may have already been answered.

I'm using a MAC Book Pro and downloaded the original OOTP games when it first came out and I have 3-4 leagues up and running. When the first patch came out I read there were some issues and that it might be best to just download the latest Mac version of the game. For whatever reason, I didn't update my game. Now a second patch is out and I want to update my OOTP game.

Can I download the latest verison and re-install the game (backing up my leagues) or should I just download patch 1 and 2 and install them? Any advice?
