Getting Rid Of Game Tips When Simming?
Is there a way to get rid of the game tips and baseball history shown when you are simming seasons? I wonder if you got rid of it it might sim a little faster?

Those messages are all in the hints.txt file in the Help folder, so I'd guess the game calls them from there. I'd imagine that by moving this file to another location (I don't want to recommend deleting it, on the off-chance it messes up your game), you'll get rid of the messages, but I'd be surprised if it saves a lot of sim time.

this would be a cool utility, for someone smarter for me to put together.....a huge list of random baseball facts and history to put there, instead of limited file that is there now. That is, as long as it doesn't impact sim time. I'm glad Lou Gehrig hit thost HRs that day, but I'm getting tired of reading it.
I want to know what sort of gel Oscar Gamble used, or know that some guy has an extra finger, or that Mookie Wilson has a doctorate in physiology. |

I remember when the game was first released that some people were complaining that the tips went by too fast. Well, I found that eventually you will get to see and read everything, and I am with you; I'm tired of reading about how Ty Cobb licked his lips before he bunted. It was interesting the first five times or so, but not any more. ![]() Edit: One note that I will share with others who want to do this: Each blurb cannot exceed 256 characters (including spaces) or it will be truncated. So, you might want to use a word processing program that provides text statistics; I use NoteTab Pro for this purpose.
