Ratings do not roll over, that would be a big bug, but the game checks that everywhere. So, like RonCo said, big talent increases happen, but when you see a guy becoming a 90 hitter when he was a 5 before (1-100 scale) I'd get suspicious.

Thanks for all the posts on this and the investigative work put in, RonCo your numbers were very informative.
I have been able to determine what happened to those players in question. this was not a game error, it is working just as it should be, thanks Markus for posting in this thread as well.
I have resolved the situation. thanks agian to all you guys, this is what makes the community the greatest there is!!!!
