need help with crash
So yesterday I'm playing the game when my son accidentally hits my power strip and turns it off. That, in turn, took away the power to my computer, monitor, printer, and TV. No big deal, I was playing my second game, and lost only 3 days (I had one day off).
So I come back to the game this morning and try to make up the time I lost, and the game loads up fine. I get to my home page, and click on my team and that page comes up, everything seems fine. I want to check out my pitchers and see who in my bullpen is tired so I click on the tab from my team homepage and the game crashes. I get the Microsoft error report thing asking me if I want to send or not. I try a second time, same thing. I try a third time, this time going straight to the game I need to play that day. I want to change my lineup hit the tab at on the pregame screen, same crash. I reload and try a different league -- same thing. I start up a new game -- same thing. So it only happens when I hit a tab at the top of a screen where the game crashes. I tried to repair the install, but that didn't work either. I'm thinking I need to uninstall and reinstall, but do I need to unlicence BEFORE I do that, or am I okay doing it because the license is already on my computer? Also, will the unistall/reinstall work? I'm thinking that that should be okay to do because the problem is consistant through leagues so it isn't in just one saved game file. I haven't had any crashes on OOTP games since the sound crash in 6.0, and that one was easily fixable, so any help here would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Also, to be extra sure, if you go to the OOTP directory under "Program Files" you should see a text file copy of your receipt, which I believe contains the install code you received when you purchased it. You could copy that in case there are issues later, but there shouldn't be.

Ok, so I ended up unlicensing, uninstalling, making a backup copy of my league file, and manually deleting all files associated with OOTP 2007. Then I redownloaded the .exe file, and reinstalled, relicensed, patched, and moved my league back into the saved game folder, and it worked.
