Missing the old almanac

I took an um, er, sabatical, during the ootp06 experience so it hasn't been since 6.5 that I played ootp...
I finally just now got around to spending the requisite 30 minutes creating an ootp07 almanac for my solo work-in-progress league and ...
I miss the old style of almanac...anyone else?

On a somewhat related topic: Just where are the 'record books' for a league kept?
Right now I'm just doing a test league after 3 days of schedule creation to get things set up how I want in terms of ...oh gawd...its so exhausting...so worth it...but...oh gawd....when will it end..
please excuse my whining...it doesn't have to be this way...I'm really doing it to myself wqith my obsessiveness...and, really, its only due to the outstanding work of Markus and his team that I have the opportunity to try to create the ambitious setup that I am...but...
well..
I digress...
I miss the old almanac.

Is there anything about almanacking that a 2-week-experienced-ootp07er might want to know about to make it easier?

and where is the recordbook (most hr's in a season and all that) anyway? and, do I have to compile these 30 minute (I know, its my fault for having an old 833 Mhz computer) almanacs in order to even have a recordbook?
thanks in advance for responses/comments.
Btw, I'm still very grateful for ootp07...its pretty spiffy overalll.

and...

...where are the almanacs saved and how do I get rid of the one I just created? its taking up a lot of space on my hard drive and, after seeing it I don't want it anymore (mayube I don't understand it very well or something)...
and, perhaps I should search through the manual to find out how to get rid of it...but...well...ok...I will...but, I wanted to voice my opinion on that...
whine whine whine...where did the old format of almanac go? that was a pretty cool feature...very effective and a very useful way to review the results of a lengthy test-sim
whine/rant-out.

Record books.

Click on the tab with the name of your league. It's between the tab that says "Manager" and "[League Name] Teams".

On the bottom of the list there should be a link named "History".

If you want to know "Most hr's in a season" then click on Leaderboards.

If you browse your league's home page, you'll see a history link, which will lead you to a leaderboard link. That should have any info that you need.

You can access the almanac from the game menu.

It is located under LEAGUE.LG/NEWS/ALMANAC/1901
It is located under LEAGUE.LG/NEWS/ALMANAC/1902
It is located under LEAGUE.LG/NEWS/ALMANAC/1903
etc...

I recommending just saving the box scores and using some of my utils...
