Run two Short Season Schedules during one calendar year?

I started a new fictional universe, and in the past I've always gone with AAA, AA, A, and a short season A. I've always had the short season A start after the amateur draft so the draftees have a place to play, but I forgot to change the start date this time around.

My short season will finish on June 5th and the draft will be on the 15th. The question is this: is it possible to have the same teams start a new season after the draft so that the new players don't miss out on a season? If it is possible, would it be recommended? I don't know enough about the game engine to know if it would support the same short season teams running through an additional 2007 season.

If anyone has tried this, please let me know! Or, suggestions would be appreciated as well!

If all else fails, I suppose I could backup the game and experiment a bit.

Thanks in advance!

As far as I'm aware with my playing around with this, when the 'end of season' event runs it will look to go to the next season number (ie year number)

you could try adding another SS league and moving the existing players to those teams along with the draftees and then delete the original SS league and go from there. That may be the best way to go here.

I like this suggestion. But, can I do that in June? Or is that something that needs to be done during the major league's off season?

There's a much simpler way: run Short Season A and Rookie League as 120-game seasons, with the Split Season box checked. That way there's one race with pre-draft players, one with post-draft players. I installed that solution for season three and have been very happy.

I'm not sure but it would only take a couple of seconds to find out...just go to the league setup screen and see if it will let you add a league. I think you can add a league anytime you want but I haven't tried to add one during the season before.

I'm approaching June 1st, and when the short season ends I'll try this suggestion. I'm hoping it works. I'll post the results when I get there, but I play out every inning and that could be a week or so.

Next season, I think I'm going to apply the suggestion that voxpoptart offered. I didn't know that this was a possibility, and I'm pretty excited about it.

Thanks to both of you for throwing your in!
