Don't State and City and Precinct taxes come into play when selling to the US? or is that only for sellers based in the US?

One of my abiding memories of buying things in the US is that there is a price displayed for the product and when you get to the till it becomes a different value (as they only include tax at that point).

So unless the goods are in a different city in the store to the till the price should be added on there - I can't imagine that there's a Baarle-Hertog in the US (if anyone ever gets the chance to go there, do...)

At this time Taxes are only collected if you buy things online from the state that you live in. For example, say I live in New York, then only online stores that ship from New York would charge me tax, the other 49 states won't. There is a bill in congress that would like to change this. That is why they can't put the tax on the first page and it has to come later becuse they don't know if your one of the few the need to be charged it. Even if this bill goes through that would still be the case as just about every state charges a diffrent amount.

I bet if you extended your discount to cover those that bought OOTP 6.5 you would get a lot of leagues finally switching to OOTP 2008... IMO.

The discount is actually to $6.99 not 5 bucks. I'm unsure why people keep saying 5 bucks...

No, the patch aspects are really just minor tidying-up, apparently. However, some new features are included; see post #1 in this thread.

people keep saying 5 bucks becuse when it was first anounced it was 14 dollars offand a 19 dollar "upgrade". Somewhere between the first post and here it got droped to only a 13 dollar discount and a 19.99 dollar price tag.

Yes and no, Yes it's pretty much just a patch, all it has is the coto inport (for those waiting for that this is a major news) and the milestone watch page making it's return. No becuse OOTP 8 is being put out by a diffrent "compnay" from OOTP 2007 and some (but not all) of the old company branding has been removed.

Glad to hear this for OOTP, but of course I didn't end up buying OTTP 2007 until last week and now 2008 is out. Yay me for my timing.

I have the Mac client anyway, only do the hardcore gaming on my PC and everything else on my Mac, so I'd have had to wait another week.

We've just sent a discount coupon code to all OOTP 2007 Mac owners. Please let us know in case you didn't receive that email. In that case I will need the email address which you've used when buying OOTP 2007.

small difference, but this does not add up.

I bought the Mac version of OOTP2007, but have since moved on and bought a new PC. Would it be possible to get the same deal to upgrade to OOTP8?

Downloading now. I am happy to purchase this, if nothing else to support the OOTP team. If any of the new stuff is cool, that's a bonus.

Wow, that's some amazing timing. But it's not OOTP 2008, it's OOTP 8.

Yes, if you send me the order info for your purchase of the Mac version. At least the email address which has been used.
