I don't understand how they can take the game and retitle it and release it, but they can't release just a patch. So on that note, I'll make my exit.

It is a 2007 roster set. It starts on Jan 2nd. It plays pretty close to what played out in 2007. I played it about 30 times or so. The usual suspects win their divisions most of the time. Tampa has a nasty habit of becoming a mini-dynasty by the end of the decade.

Really? I find that hard to believe. Enough people would pony up the coin for new features, I'd think.

Here's my question and I hope one of the beta testers close to Markus could ask him this and get a straight answer. If I buy OOTP 8 will it be a stand alone game or will it require OOTP 2007 like OOTP 6.5 required OOTP 6? I own OOTP 2007 with two licenses... would I get an additional two licenses for OOTP 8, then? How does that work for those who upgrade?

How does it work for the upgrade? That's a mystery to this point. |

OOTP 8 is a separate game. If they were to issue licenses to each person who has OOTP 2007, Steve has already said they would lose money on each license. Steve has also said that releasing it for $5.99 or whatever the coupon will make it is the lowest they can offer it for and not lose money. If, for example, they lose $5.00 for every license and for example, 10,000 copies, they would lose $50,000 dollars. Now, they need to sell almost 3,400 hundred copies of "OOTP 8.5" just to break even with those 10,000. Is that really a smart business move?

Depends how many people are turned off from OOTP 9 because of this, I guess.

Raider answered your license questions. I'm not quite sure what you mean by that last sentence, but assuming you're asking about moving an OOTP2007 league to OOTP8, all you do is copy/paste your .lg folder from the OOTP2007 \saved_games folder to the OOTP8 one.
