Couple of Questions
I hope these are not stupid questions....
1. Can you make an all-Canada or all-Japanese League and if so, will the game supply ONLY players from those countries? 2. Can you create a fictional country and mod the countries list to import/create ONLY players from the fictional country (ies) |

Yes and yes. It will require some text editing on your part though.

You can edit down nations.txt to be just the ones that you want in any new game. The edited file has to be in place when you create the new game, and you want to save the original nations.txt someplace.
The only thing that will disappoint you is that you cannot easily prevent leagues from mingling players; that is, Canadians on Japanese teams and vice versa. If you base a league in Canada and prevent foreigners, then you will have only Canadians in that league. Same thing for a Japanese league of Japanese teams only. If, however, you want to have a multi-national league of Canadian and Japanese teams, there is virtually no way to prevent Canadian teams from acquiring Japanese players and vice versa. The OOTP 2007 manual has more about nations.txt and other database files in Sections 27-29.

Well, you CAN prevent teams in an international league from aquiring foreign players, but it's so much of a hassle you have to be really enthusiastic about it. I set up such a league, multinational, and all. You have to create your league. Delete all players. Change the league nation under setup and fill each team with fictional players, remembering to change the league nation before each batch of players. You have to turn off free agency, trading, and waivers. But it is fun once you actually get to play. Depending on the size of your league, whether or not you edit PCMs for each team, and whether or not you also edit all team colors and logos, this can take several days. But it is fun to play.

For Japanese leagues only, see Murmurs NPB roster set and DB in mods, rosters forum, Actual players
