Run & Hit play never works

I have called the run and hit play literally dozens of times with different teams, different situations, different leagues, etc. 100% of the time I've tried it the batter never swings. Has anyone tried this and had the batter take a hack?

It definitely doesn't seem to work like it should. I can't say if the batter never swings; I haven't done it enough to be sure. But the batter certainly doesn't swing very often. One of the reasons I wish the running and hitting controls were separate is that I'd like to be able to tell the runner whether to run, run if you get a lead, or don't run separately from telling the batter whether to take, swing no matter what, or swing away.

Yes. I really hope that Markus puts that into OOTP9.

I've often seen the hitter swing on a run & hit - sometimes to my chagrin (strike 'em out, throw 'em out), sometimes to my delight (runners on the corners).

I've also seen the batter swing on Run and hit, but it's somewhat rare.

I like Ctorg's suggestion. That would spice the baserunning plays up nicely.
