Multiple Shortlists?
I commonly find myself wishing for the ability to maintain multiple shortlists--perhaps even be able to create an unlimited number--so that I can track certain players, list players from trade talks I'm involved in, tinker with my 25-man roster without actually having to move anyone on the transactions screen, etc. all at the same time. Filter use only goes so far in allowing me to use my shortlist for multiple functions simultaneously.
I would love it if we had the option to maintain multiple shortlists in a future version of the game. Unfortunately, there is no longer an open suggestions forum. While I understand the need to conduct suggestion submissions this way, it leaves me only with the option of making my suggestions in the general discussions forum. Perhaps that's just as well, as it makes it easier for someone to tell me if my suggestion has already been made, or if not, for the idea to gain support. That said, anyone know if this feature has been requested already? My brief search didn't yield any results. If it's a new idea, does anyone feel the same way, and think this would be a good addition? I'm getting tired of using notepad to track players. ![]() |

Good suggestion. I was just thinking this the other night, when I wished for separate shortlist pages for the following:

football manager has been using this system for a number of versions now. they actually use external files to save shortlists so users can swap lists (which makes sense given that everyone uses the same db in that game). but we can already save custom views and filters, so why not shortlists? but im with 98 Yankees... it ends up being a garbage dump of players after a few seasons (prospects, players traded away, etc) and difficult to remember why i put some of these players in there in the first place.

I'd also love to be able to sort by all players currently assigned a particular position rather than all players capable of playing that position. Would make making cuts by position for an entire farm system a lot easier. (Not that the way it currently works isn't very useful for other functions.)

This was discussed some time ago but I agree it's a great idea. Otherwise I find myself only using the in-game shortlist for one purpose and keeping external lists for all my other lists.

Good suggestion. At a minimum, it would be nice to add a blank column which could be edited to input your own personal code that could be filtered. Then, if you wanted to sort by XY (Ex-Yankees) or P's (Prospects), etc.. it'd be at least that much easier.

I opened this thread up, having read the title, and was intending to second this idea until I ran across my own post above. ![]() Oh well, I'll fourth or fifth it instead!
