How to update league structure

I created a basic league to play around with until I got the hang of things. I started with simple MLB, AAA, AA, A structure. Now that I am comfortable with what I have, I would like to add the Japaneese league, Cuban league, etc. but I can't seem to find how. What do I need to do in order to add the new leagues? Thanks.

I believe that on the Game setup screen, you go to League Setup, and on the left underneath the list of leagues currently in your game you can go to Add League and the League Creation Wizard will come up & help you add another "major" international league.

I saw that option but it looked as if it would create a whole new league instead of adding the other leagues I wanted. I will give it a shot and see what happens. Thanks.

the game creates japan leagues and cuban leagues as separate major leagues, and not as an affiliate of the MLB league

I'm pretty sure it will add a league to your existing universe alongside whatever leagues you currently have. I'm confident this is the option you're looking for.

I don't understand -- are you saying do use "Add New League" or don't use it?

it seemed what he was looking for was an option to add the leagues as affiliates under the MLB, and that is not how it works

he CAN however go to create new league, make the leagues, then set the affiliations, if i believe correctly

I don't think that's what he wants to do at all. Why would a Japanese or Cuban league be affiliated with MLB teams?

I'm somewhat confused by this. It does add a whole new league. Isn't that what you are trying to do? Add new leagues to the universe?

I think it's a question of terminology -- when he said he didn't want to add "a whole new league" I think he meant universe. Trust me, to people new to OOTP2007/v.8, the idea of having a game with more than one league takes some getting used to.

Yes. It does not create a 'Whole New League' as you put it over your existing league. It creates a 'Whole New League' along side your current Major League..I.E. Japanese League or Cuban League. Trust me, hit that button and follow the on screen instructions. You will see once you go through the process.

I am sorry, being new I am getting used to the terminology. What I would like to do is add the Japanese, Cuban, etc leagues as separate entities that would run their seasons concurrently with my MLB season but as an equal, parallel leage and not a subleage. This would allow me to check their leage pages, look at their players and deal with their free agents. Hope this clarifies my question some.

Yeah. Game Setup > League Setup > Add New League.
