It depends on what era they played in. These stats are great in some eras and simply impressive in others.

Maybe you could show VORP, too.

I think we need at LEAST a basic league context and a list of positions they played in order to make any kind of judgement at all. The information you're giving now is nowhere near enough to have any opinion at all.

So I say none of them get in since they were all first basemen or right fielders playing in a high offense era.

EDIT: and the poll doesn't let me vote for nobody, so your results are going to end up very skewed.

The only one I would give serious consideration to is #3 so I looked him up. The answer is a definite no, IMO.

No question about it. Did you catch that FJM post? One of the funniest, IMO.

If you don't want to vote for anyone, then DON'T VOTE, it's not that big of a deal. I just wanted to have a discussion based solely on stats, not names. If I told you that #4 was Lenn Sakata you would say NO before even looking at the stats.

FYI- #4 is not Lenn Sakata
Well, Lenn Sakata, apart from being able to play every position including outside linebacker, sucked pretty bad. That's probably why people would say no.

Yeah, thanks for reminding me. This is my favorite part:

"Pay attention, people. A new low has been reached. A new god-damned all-time son of a bitching low, in the history of journalism. Not sports journalism -- journalism of any kind. This last paragraph is worse than the worst war reporting, the worst economic reporting, the worst paragraph from the worst article about the most inane party during the worst Hamptons season by the worst society reporter from the worst Hamptons-based magazine.

Mike Downey discussed Goose Gossage's HOF legitimacy by citing his win total."

But if you're going to make us vote solely on stats, then we need more than traditional stats. At least give us VORP.

Closing the thread because the OP has been deleted by the poster and it has therefore lost its point.
