Expansion: when does it happen?

It doesn't state in the manual when the league expands and when the expansion draft takes place.

I don't know about automatic expansion in Historic Leagues, but in custom leagues it is up to you. The draft occurs 2 days after you expand the league.

Usually when I expand, especially if I am taking over one of the new teams, I will do it right after the rule V draft, just so that you don't lose that great prospect you just drafted but left off the 40 man roster to practice in AAA or AA to some other team who needs him.

I should have mentioned its an historical league.

I know the teams and everything is pulled in like 2 days after the end of the world series, so if there was going to be a expantion draft it would happen 2 days after that. This was done becuse a majority of people wanted the new teams to be involved in free agenty. I don't know if historical leagues auto expand has auto Expantion drafts or how they get thier players, but the teams are set to come in right after the WS

I think this might be causing my game to lockup. My game has been freezing right after the WS. Does it take a long time for this, or is my game crashing on me?

The game will take some time after the world series, it has to check for FA and coaches leaving and scout the league, plus a few other things. The game may appear to be locked up but let it work, will finish all of these and the be ready to play again.

a request for the next version:

a way to start a season with the expansion draft.

The way I understand it now--you have to sim the season before in order to run an expansion draft (well, one that happened in real life)

why couldn't you start a season with a expansion draft, when you do a league setup the game starts in January, you could easly then set up a expantion draft (don't know why you would want to you just set up the league, why didn't you include all the teams you wanted?). The only time you might not be able to run an expantion draft is with pre-made roster sets as some of them start at the begining of the season and there is no time to fit it in.
