Question financial settings for international leagues

I have run a historical league up to 1/1/62 with just MLB, no minors. Now I want to add the Mexican, Cuban, and Japanese leagues. When I tell the league setup to set the strategy to 1962, the financials get set as well. That is good except that they are all the same as the MLB. I want some difference to drive the best players to the richest leagues.

Is there a way to set them at a fraction of MLB and let them grow?

Does DarkCloud's model deal with this?

How do you historical simmers deal with this?

The only way to do it is to manually update them each year yourself. You have to turn off the automatic updating of financials (this is one of the options in league options) for those leagues. I do wish there was a way for the game's different leagues to follow different financial paths, league totals, etc., but there isn't. Maybe someday.

So, you leave the automatic updating option on for MLB, note the financial progression each year, and in offseason or preseason adjust the foreign leagues to be some standard fraction of MLB salary structure, 50%, 75%, whatever works. Does not seem to be that much of a bother as long as you remember to do it.

It depends on how you play. If you go through years pretty quickly and have a lot of other leagues, it can be a bit of a pain to update all those fields every season. If you play slowly, day-by-day, and only have a couple of other leagues, it's probably not too big a deal.

True. Should be an option for future versions to have each league address its own financials.txt file for such purposes.

I believe it is the first day of the offseason.

I have the ratios for all the leagues I will use so I think it is just a matter of checking the MLB setting each year to see any changes and flow them down to the other leagues.

THANKS!
