AI Player Evaluation Options

Has it been reported that the evaluation weights for ratings and stats does not work properly? This is pretty easy to see because if you change the weight values, the overall ratings for the players will change to reflect the changes -- this works correctly. When you exit the program and come back in, the player ratings revert to what they were before the changes were made. If you go back to the AI Player Evaluations Options screen and press enter on any of the four fields, the player ratings are correct again.

For example, I changed my evaluations to be totally stats based, 50%, 33%, 17%. When I did this, a certain player had his rating go from 20 to 61. When I exited the program and reloaded, his rating was 20 again, and he asked for the minimum contract extension. When I went to the Evaluation Options screen, the percentages remained 50, 33, 17. I pressed enter (without changing the value) on the 50% field, and the player again had a 61 rating and now asked for $7,000,000 on the extension.

Has this issue been discussed before, and is there a workaround besides going into the Evaluation Settings screen and pressing enter each time I load the league? I am running version 2.0.3.68.

Just wanted to ask, but what is the status of this issue? Has it been resolved?

OK, fixed for the next version, but not OOTP8, as I understand it.

Everything is based on ratings in ootp8

Well, lemme ask this (about ootp8):

if I reload my desired AI Player Evaluation percentages each time I load the league, will the league function with those ratings while I am currently playing the league? IOW, is this repeated entry upon startup a work-around?

No, I found out subsequently that it does not reset each time you load the league, it does it each simulation day. You are stuck with 100% ratings pretty much -- at least until version 9.

I know this is a slightly old thread, but I just had a question about the AI Player Evaluation problem being fixed. Does this also mean that the AI will now offer meaningful trades that you will actually look at and consider instead of asking for your 5-star stud and offering two 1-star nobody's in return?

Well, that may still happen, sometimes the AI tries to rip you off But overall, the AI will be better...
