Inside the Park Home Run

Had never seen an Inside the Park Home Run until last night. And to tie the score in Game 4 of the Conference Championship no-less.

Gareth Fuller would knock home the winning run one out later and Brisbane wins the series 3-1.

awesome! how was that player in the regular season?
...I had a rookie (september callup ended up in my rotation come playoff time when my #2 starter got injured) come in and pitch game 4 of the LCS, and pitched 7 innings of shutout ball, saving my #1 pitcher to pitch game 1 of the WS instead of game 5 of the LCS.

Where'd you get that nice-looking ballpark image, Sutto?

It's from the best of Blueturf/Teflon/Henry/ctorg pack from Padres Fan Mods.
Ballparks

I use this one for Brisbane because in real life they played at the Showgrounds. The old grandstand and fence in LF reminds me of that.

Harry Donovan has been a bit of a journeyman, with Brisbane being the 6th stop for the 33 year old.

For the season he appeared in 98 games, mainly as a pinch-hitter, and played 1B, LF, CF, RF and, strangely, 1 game as catcher.

Avg .212 13 Rbi and NO Home runs, till this game. This was only his 2nd post-season hit from 8 plate appearances.

Should an inside the park home run be classed as a long ball? I always took long ball to mean over the fences and out of the field of play.

In my time playing OOTP I have had 2 inside the park home runs and 1 triple play - but no no-hitters yet.

Weird. I've only been playing since December, and just in the individual games I've played, I've had two ITP home runs and a triple play, and my team was on the receiving end of a no-hitter. I've also had a no-hitter in an autoplayed game at the big-league level and one in the minors.

Actually not. I have the pitching set to be slightly above average because I like to see pitching duels and lots of strike-outs. There may also be some other modifications that I have done that might be effecting the results (i.e., player creation - batters, and ballpark modifications).

Hmm... I kept everything neutral, so for me, evidently, it's just been the luck of the draw.

Fire the 3rd base coach

The coach sent him home with only 1 out and the top of the order due up?

So, a foul ball over the fence is a long ball?

I thought this miht be about the ITP software.

Well, I dought a real anouncer would call it a long ball, but it you look at stats, at least in OOTP, I don't think there is a way to tell after the fact (maybe with the pbp, if kept) if it was a "long ball" or the batter "ran it out".

Does anyone know if there is a catagory for inside the park homeruns in the text file or if it just uses a homerun call to end that segment?

I think it is a generic phrase after a home run...any home run.

I don't think there is a separate category for an inside-the-park homer.
