Hopefully, though, the scouting overhaul isn't the centerpiece of the release. That would disappoint me.

I will say that the change in scouting is a big step in the right direction, however.

How do we know? We don't really have an understanding of the changes yet.

Thanks for the update, knowing when it is expected to come makes the wait a bit easier. I hate suspense.

Thanks for the update.

Excellent decision, and looking forward to the scouting changes.

thanks for the update.
I play with scouting off, so a change in scouting will probably get me to play with it on.

I know because the scouting was cumbersome and bothered me deep in my pants. Any change to the scouting is in the right direction.

Sounds good so far. May is a while away, which kind of sucks, but it should make the game run a little smoother out of the gate. Everything sounds good so far and I just can't wait for the other surprises they have waiting.

I'm hoping that the change in scouting is that it goes more towards having a scouting director or something rather than having the GM micromanage the various scouts and their assignments. I stopped using scouting in the OOTP2006 days.

One of my biggest gripes has always been the inability to compare all the players well. You have to keep going between the different scouting reports of your various scouts and all that. If you want to sort the free agent pool by stars, for instance, you can't really do it in an efficient way because each scout may have a different set of players he has scouted.

Anyway, I'm hoping scouting will be improved to the level of usability for me, because I think it's a good idea that just wasn't implemented quite right.

Thanks for the update. Although there aren't many posts regarding this information, I know there are thousands of baseball sim gamers out there that probably only read this thread and didn't reply to it.

I personally can't wait for OOTP 9.

I trust we'll be getting an email from you with purchase discounts, etc. before the official release date.

Thanks for the update - and the news that there will be a road to release is great as well - although May is soooo far away.

But as others say better to wait and get it right than hurry and have us all moan!

Now the question that won't get an answer is early or late May??

Do I have to buy version 8?

Can I go from 2007 to version 9 or do I need to purchase 8 prior to 9??

You can go directly from 2007 to version 9; no need to purchase 8 at all.

I always play with scouting off and I don't see that changing.

Finally seeing some OLD options returning in the game.

Please make sure NEVER to take away from us in the future releases, always give us more, NOT less then previous versions. It is so frustrating to buy the game only to find out that some options are no longer there.

Take your time Markus. It would be well worth the wait if some more weak spots from 2007 could be improved - like the AI game management & the PBP. Keep up the good work. I'm happy to wait for an improved & more complete next version.

Keep up the hard work, and we'll cheer you on from the stands!

Only 34 days?!?!?

Technically, May is only 34 days away. We can hope.
