Cant Schedule An All-Star Game

I'm using OOTP8 and created a 12-team league with two different leagues, each with two divisions. Playing a 100-game, non-balanced schedule, after two seasons I decided to schedule an All-Star game, I did it so it's automatically scheduled. However, nothing happened. The next off-season I gave it a date instead. Once again, no All-Star game occurred that year. Anyone know what the problem is?

Please help, it's starting to get really frustrating.

I have a historical .lg going that started with the 1901 season. After trying, and failing, multiple times, I have learned that the game will not "automatically schedule" the all-star game. I have also learned that I cannot manually schedule the game too early in the off season or too late. I have had to make myself a reminder note to manually schedule the all-star game just prior to spring training. I hope someone in "the know" might be able and willing to shed some light on the matter.

Did you schedule it on a specific day when no games were scheduled? The first time I scheduled an all-star game, it came up on a day when other games were also being played. The all-stars ended up playing games in two different cities on the same day! Check the day's game results to see if the all-star game was played as well on that day.

Also, as you approached the all star game, did you receive news stories about the all-star game (like who was on it)? This might tell you if the game was actually scheduled.

On OOTP 6.5 there was an all-star scheduling bug, but it was fixed for 2007. Maybe it crept back in to OOTP 8.

If the problem still exists, post it on the tech support part of the forum. Good luck.

I can't really seem t fix it. I just started the league over and let it schedule it form the beginning and it was fine though.

I had the same problem as Ambermonk but as my solo historical setup is two eight team leagues I decided to import an old ML schedule from the thirties which solved it.

I should know this more certainly, but I believe that simply setting the parameter from no All-Star Game for some seasons to then having one has no effect unless a new schedule was generated. Did you ever regenerate (or re-import) after changing the setting?
