Increasing Roster Size

I have been fiddling with a league setup and I wanted to increase the roster size from 25 to 30. But it doesn't seem to me that the AI is adjusting the proportion of those extra 5 slots. Since the AI tends to always have 11 or 12 pitchers, ultimately with a 30 man roster, The number of pitchers should be in the 13-14-15 range (at least in my head) - but the AI keeps it always in the 11-12 range and uses the extra slots for offensive players that ride pine.

Is there anyway to adjust the proportions other than manual god mode?

Oddly enough, this was something I spotted yesterday.

The number of pitchers chosen seems to depend on rotation size, pitcher endurance, use of relievers and pitchers.

And the noticeable thing I found from looking in the database files is this (and only Markus can give any clue on this). In amongst all the general strategy settings there are two fields that on default contain the values 12 and 13.

Interestingly enough 12 is the number of pitchers most teams have after an inaugural draft and 13 is the number of hitters (in a 25 man roster). I upped my roster size to 30 and changed these fields to 18/12 before the draft but it still only picked 12 pitchers.

So, that tends to back up my view that the number is chosen based on your pitcher settings and nothing else, which is a shame.

I wonder if I push the bar over to the "Favor Pitching" in the Overall Roster Strategy section and see what that does.

I'm sort of in the reverse container, I like smaller rosters, about 23 players. But I still want 11 pitchers for the most part. I found that changing the settings on Use of Relievers and Closers I was able to get each team to this amount. Before I changed that most teams had only 9 pitchers, but I wanted fewer batters, not pitchers. Seems to work for me.

I think this might have worked (the favor pitching)

This hasn't worked, I thought it did initially, but it hasnt.

With my 30 man rosters, I want at least 13 pitchers on the AI squads. Is there any way to increase the normal ratio of 11 pitchers regardless of how many spots the pro roster has?

I personally use smaller rosters, sometimes 15 man, with 3 man rotations and each team usually has 3 starters, 2 relievers and a closer.

AI also ignores minor league injuries and always runs with 10 pitchers per minor league affiliate. Been an annoyance to me for a very long time
